Our Fees
Like most attorneys in family law matters, we charge our clients based on an hourly rate. Our attorneys' hourly rates* are as follows:
Susan M. Hicks    $450.00
Debra L. Powers    $300.00
K. Leigh Taylor    $250.00
Carole A. Rubin $175.00
Kim K. Huguley    $175.00

Initial one hour consultation fees are as follows:

        Susan M. Hicks    $450.00
        Debra L. Powers    $300.00
        K. Leigh Taylor    $250.00
        Carole A. Rubin $200.00

        * Rates are subject to change without notice.

We will require a fee advance in all cases. The amount of this fee, commonly referred to as a "retainer," will be determined by an attorney during your initial consultation and may be $3,500.00 for a simple, uncontested matter or it may be $10,000.00 or more depending on our assessment of the complexity and nature of your case. This fee is deposited into a trust account with our firm.

Each month, you will receive a detailed bill indicating the work we have done on your behalf. At this time, we withdraw the amount owed to the firm as indicated on your bill from your trust account. You will be required to replenish your "retainer" and maintain the advance fee balance in your trust account throughout our representation.

In addition to legal fees, some costs will be incurred on your behalf and you are responsible for these costs, such as delivery charges, postage, photocopying costs, and facsimile charges. These costs will be included on your bill each month. You may be requested to pay third parties, such as process servers, court reporters, or expert witnesses directly.

The exact terms of our billing will be explained in a written fee agreement should you wish to retain our firm.
